Nation By Nation (19May09)

12-19May09 -- As rivers of puss pour out of the west abscessed lacerations and necrotic shreds of scales-covered flesh flake off the west child murdering juggernaut, from pole to pole, the Freeworld mobilises for the inevitable worm explosion.

A B K H A Z I A Abkhazia - Deal to permanently station Russia mil in Abkhazia -- just in case what's left of the west Saakashvili proxy goes mad again -- goes on.

A U S T R A L I A Australia - Reveals behind-the-scenes dealings. While loud and present in the west war chorus, Canberra's secretly offering uranium to China; a revamp of arms treaties to Indonesia; a prisoner swap to Philippines and Singapore; and, most entertainingly, investment to Iran. Canberra issued an apology to all implicated nations for the embarrassment. Sideline: Australia is not alone in negotiations with Freeworld. It's quite the trend among the running west war junta. USA has tried begging Russia to lay weapons down; to pal around with Iran; Taliban for truce; and China not to dump d0llar. Most of EU like France, Italy, Greece, and Austria have sought and cut deals with the Freeworld. This is phase II of the west prolapse. The first, in which west war junta rinsed west populace of all cash, consolidated assets, and piled up all the loot is nearly up. In phase II, they're moving the loot out of west any which way, much like GM has done. Then shall come phase III, the most feared of all, in which the west madmen will try run and to ensure no one follows they have to create some gigantic distraction for all.
- Jails a man for thinking west history is different than taught. Sideline: If a denial of German atrocities is a crime in west, then all west textbooks, books, films, and propaganda is criminal, by the same rationale, since it all denies west the 2000 yrs of perpetual holocausts.
- Increases debt by 58B AUD and plans to increase debt in 4yrs to 200B AUD. Pumps 22B AUD into trying to save 210K jobs. All this after a 90B "bailout". The fun bit is that it has the gall to call all this "a return to strong growth".
- Within a week, Canberra changed its mind and forecast 300B AUD debt, not 200B. Despite the unusually large error in the bean-counting, even for west, which alone underscores the happy non-existence of accountability, responsibility, and sanity, Canberra didn't retract the "strong growth" bit.

C H I N A China - After knocking USA off Brazil's partnership list, adding Brazil into BeiCon: (a) 10B USD initial loan to secure Brazil's oil; (b) 13 accords signed on investment & coop; (c) and buying and expanding Brazil's MMX steel mining.

E G Y P T Egypt - 18May, weapon depot explodes in Abu Sultan.

Egypt, west puppet state, goes insane and slaughters all pigs as a "prevention" against USA-flu. Vids showing the insanity have been youtube-cided but here's still one that may still work: youtube.com/watch?v=ShJ-mWnu_gA. It would be surprising if a new disease didn't emerge from this mind-boggling psychosis.

E U EU - Fines Intel 1,4B EUR for market block. It's morally soothing to see them go at each other's throats.

F R A N C E France - Select students are denied diplomas because they disagreed with the state too much. No doubt, this sensible policy will ensure student love for governance for generations to come.
- Wants UN to extend French sea borders to 350 nm from the norm of 200nm to claim more seabed around St Pierre and Miguelon islands in the Atlantic. Will Moscow do the same and extend its North Pole zone to Calais?
- Votes to shut internet off willy nilly to downloaders despite EU's vote that internet access is a fundamental right.

G E R M A N Y Germany - Opel on garage sale despite Berlin's petulant screaming. And that's not all! Berlin has to guarantee 2,6B EUR to even hope to dump this toxic mfg asset.
- Auto part firm dumping 4,5K jobs.
- Goes on with the voodoo "bank fix", which works like this: swap toxic assets for gov't bonds. Sideline: This means that after they have squandered the decade worth of Bush II/Blair war investment (aka derivatives and asset toxicity) they're refilling empty war chests with people's cash, via gov't bonds, which is public loan issued by governance. To make it more bizarre the banks are somehow absolved from paying monthlies like a good bond issuer should and only have to promise to service it annualy. This means that the word "bond" no longer means a bond in west, but rather some bizarre interest-deferred promise-based perversion. It also means that the word "bank" no longer means a banks for it doesn't loan to people but people loan to it, and without any say whatever in the matter.
- Begged Dubai for cash for the Opel toxic asset and failed to get any. Sideline: UAE's bought 10% of Daimler in Mar09 and has set aside some 700B EUR specifically earmarked for the upcoming west shopping spree.
- Shrivels 4%/Q1.
- Tax harvest fails refilling the war coffers and amounts to 316B EUR deficit through 2012. Some might say that a 3 yr outlook is a mite ambitious.
- 100K walk the streets in Berlin, 16May, asking for econ survival. 50K do the same in Madrid, Brussels, and 20K in Prague, the current prez-less capital of EUnuchs Ltd.

G R E E C E Greece - 12May, bomb goes off in Eurobank, Athens.

I N D I A India - Export shrivels 33%/Apr. Looks like it sat on the fence a little too long waiting for the highest bidder.
- Buying a nuke sub from Russia.
- 200K jobs zapped in last 6 mo in diamond industry.

I R A N Iran - Deploys ground-to-air and ground-to-sea batteries in Hormuz on heightened risk of west strike.
- Sends warships to Somalia.
- Building up missile arsenal. Obama responds: "Iran not off the table". Sideline: So which bit is a lie here? The silly twee vid sent to Tehran begging for forgiveness or these war threats? Only in west could such a screaming contradiction enjoy no concern.

I R A Q Iraq - UEA with Hungary pounced on Kurdish gas in attempt to steel 3B ft3/day for EUnuchs. Iraq occupied governance shot the first attempt down.

I T A L Y Italy - Fiat to zap 18K jobs and close 10 factories.

J A P A N Japan - Sony boasts 1B USD/yr loss. That's a 1st in 14 yrs.
- Daimler is zapping 2,5K jobs.
- Nissan owns up to 233B JPY loss/yr but says it's less in the red thanks to the "stimulus" free cash. Paraphrased but not a joke!
- Panasonic nears 400B JPY in loss/annum. Sales down over 14%.
- Mizaho bank execs toast to a near 600B JPY annual loss.

M E X I C O Mexico - USA is sending arms, war advisers, and 700M+ USD to get "El Chapo", the root of all evil in Mexico.
- Prison opens gates to some 50 big wheels.

N O R T H K O R E A North Korea - Invalidates all contracts of Kaesong region. Sideline: Kaesong is a 65km2 region in N Korea on the border with South Korea where S Korea operates some 70 factories employing some 30K. The idea, once upon a time, was to bring the west-torn nation closer together.

P A K I S T A N Pakistan - NATO trucks attacked and torched.
- Shells Indian post in Kashmir.

P E R U Peru - Indigenous uprising in Cusco, Ucayali, Loreto, and Amazon regions forces Lima to declare state of emergency. Uprising reason -- disgusted with oil ecocide: land pillage, pollution, and zero distribution of profits.
- Harbours 3 Bolivars, who fled to Peru on 18May, sought by Morales for murder of 60 protesters in Bolivia.

R U S S I A Russia - Upping space flight price tag from 30M to 50M for the Right Stuffing NASA boys. Sideline: USA, with its fleet of randomly exploding space shuttles, is fully dependent on Russia to get into orbit and to ride the Russian space station.
- Endearing Mongolia with coop, investment, the usuals. Did west forget about Gobi? It's really as though west doesn't have a map.
- Carves a bit of the sinking Japan away from west by n-fuel deal. Despite the n-fuel deal, no threats to bomb Moscow and/or Tokyo were registered from west?
- Breaks another west monopoly. This time it's the diamond cabal. The timing as west plunges off the cliff is certainly not accidental.
- Vetoes west idea to keep west stooges in Georgia after the NATO war games are up on 1Jun.
- Nabucco II, the EU wetdream of non-Russian gas supply is nuked days after its unveiling. In a masterful series of deals, Russia is buying up entire Azerbaijan gas, incidentally, the very planned source for Nabucco II. EUnuchs heard lamenting.
- Signs up Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, and Italy for the new 63B m3 SouthStream gasline in the further splitting up the EU collective animal farm along its natural energy fissures. The beauty of the SouthStream pipeline is that when Ukraine pipeline is shut off, there'll be no disruptions to the Balkans.
- Moscow launches new defence strategy since "some foreign states are seeking dominance with nukes, high tech warfare, and militarisation of space". Now who could that be warring in the orbit? Sideline: Several satellites have been knocked down twixt Nov08 and Mar09. While pawned off to the baboons as "mysteriously behaving asteroids", "strange fireball lights", and "meteorites", some 8 satellites have been seen crashing. In fact, USA lied about Iridium33, the USA satellite involved in the collision with the Russian Kosmos2251, saying that it's purely a private telecom satellite. It turns out Iridium33 carried USA military robotic satellite retrieving system, or rather a machine that's made to knock satellites down.
- Ruble to head for global reserve currency.
- Building "BlueStream" gasline running under the Black Sea to feed Middle East.

S P A I N Spain - Unemployment over 17%.
- Shrivels over 7%/annum. Considering all these econ woes, especially after west gave them Madrid bombing in 2004, it must be said that sleeping with child murderers can sometimes painfully backfire.

S R I L A N K A Sri Lanka - "Job done" celebrates Colombo as all of Tamil rebels are dead after 48 hr ultimatum on 15May.
- UN called it "bloodbath" and "large scale killing of civilians" but did absolutely nothing. That's even less than a blogger.
- 430 civilians (100 children) killed in 2 days, 12May.
- 70K killed thus far in this ethnic cleansing by west powers via SLA.
- 14May, 60 wounded, 23 killed in bus attack.
- 17May, Colombo says the last of rebels committed mass suicide but couldn't identify them. Now, what sort of suicide leaves no identifiable parts?

This was "no-fire zone" until Sri Lanka went after the female and children "rebels".

T A I W A N Taiwan - The opposition, propped by west, promises demonstrations, as the island is returning to the mainland.

T U R K E Y Turkey - Spurns IMF policy order to shut off unnecessary civil programmes in favour of protecting IMF "investment". Turkey is one of the last non-west nations with IMF claws still in it. Sideline: Other than that, IMF lives off cannibalistic practices loaning to west-trapped nations.

U K UK - BT celebrates annual loss with the zapping of 30K jobs.
- BoE says "growth unusually uncertain". Actually, considering reality, it's unusually "certain" and to remain negative. Sideline: BoE is the bank that reinvented all business practices. It totally cut out the pesky middle nonsense of tedious production and lengthy sales and went straight for profit by directly manufacturing cash, mountains of cash, 250B GBP, in fact.
- It should be no surprise, considering the new BoE business model, that UK debt is at 80% of GDP. As breathtaking as it is, BoE maintains that recovery will come next yr but it fails to elaborate how is this miracle is to happen.
- MPs "parliamentary expenses", paid by the UK obedient worker, now extend to bon-bons, cow moats, chandeliers, tampons (even for male MPs), king size beds, mortgages for both real and fictional houses, 2nd homes, home cinemas, massage chairs (so far and quite surprisingly there's been no mention of dildos), swimming pools, diapers (not a joke!), gardening, horse manure shoveling, flat cleaning (imagine the lizard Bohemian Grove orgy that costs 12K GBP just to clean up.), and porn. "Horrified" PM apologised and explained away this evidently on-going, deliberate, and organised theft of public funds as "a mistake", while "by mistake" he happened to shred his 40K expense list.
- Thanks to the marvel of the west twisted definition of "democracy", governance supported on a good day by only 20%, or a super-minority, remains happily and unquestioningly in power.
- To pay for these fiascos, governances is zapping 7K jobs.
- Tamil sit-in protest in London failed in making London interfere in the slaughter. Of course, it didn't help that London is one of the west slaughter architects and supplicant of anti-civilian weapons to Sri Lanka.
- Keeping mouth shut on tortures, as ordered by USA.
- Home repos 50% up.
- 5B GBP system is watching UKians to make sure they commit no such fiscal shenanigans like their MPs.
- MI5 cleared of London77 bombing. So who had the foreknowledge then? Perez, then Israeli state sec'y told us clearly that it was London Police that whisked him away from the tube station BEFORE the bombs went off. The consequences of Perez's public statement are beyond belief but like US baboons, Brit poodles don't mind the occasional self abuse.
- Governances seeking anyone including 11 yr olds to become informers. "Become gov't informant. Betray friends and family. Fabulous prizes to be won" was once a joke in UK.
- Copies France, how else?, and files UN border extension for seabed around Malvinas. Now, how can one ask to enlarge stolen propety?

U N UN - 17May, WHO says USA-flu now in 39 countries with 8,5K cases. Projects 2B cases. The admitted case rate seems to be increasing some 10% every 3 days now. Very oddly, USA CDC said on 14May that there's already 50K cases in USA alone. Slight anomaly? Well, they're both west sources.

U S A USA - Tax harvest was expected to refill the empty coffers but instead it left USA with a 20B USD gaping hole. This takes into account the pillage of the off shore tax hives.
- Oregon chem depot leaks mustard gas. Mustard gas is a biological WMD made to blister skin and lungs but despite that authorities were confident the leak posed no risk. This raises a few obvious questions. How does mustard gas pose no risk? Why is USA stockpiled with WMDs anyway? Why are they leaking? And above all, why isn't UN going in to get them?
- Canadian caught bringing ebola viles into USA. Act of terrorism was ruled out though. Now, how is smuggling ebola not terrorism when bringing a bottle of water on any west plane is?
- 80% of graduated students found no job in 2008. Apply now or wait for the 2010 recovery. LOL
- Turns out that the 500K jobs reported as zapped in Apr was just more media BS to stage a false sense of "recovery". The real number is over 630K following the trend.
- Chrysler zapped 23K jobs.
- GM zapped 25K jobs, idling 13 factories, and jettisoning 3K dealers. As GM heads for bankruptcy; GM elite dumped the toxic stock magically days before it dived to hell; 90K jobs now on the line; yet GM urgently needs another quick 11B USD -- that's after getting 5B USD to complete the expensive bankruptcy forms.
- While paid to close shop in USA, GM re-emerges in China currently enjoying sales growth. The same goes for Ford now living in Brazil. Sideline: That's phase II in progress: the consolidated loot is moved. Soon, assets probably won't even have to relocate and instead will be carved out of west geographically precipitating the end phase. Indeed, along these lines, the fly-over land of USA is likely to fall to China while coasts with Alaska will go to Russia and other creditors, as it's already been predicted. Let's hope they keep some baboons for future generations to marvel at this bizarre CNN-fed species.
- Freddie posts 10B USD/Q1 loss. That's akin to shoveling 50kg of 100 d0llar bills out the window every hour 24 hrs/day for 3 months without taking a single break. Evidently, just burning this much cash is quite costly. And 10B/3 months is very tenuous considering the usual west lacerations.
- Leads west in legalisation or taxation of marijuana in hope that the grey hippie generation will refill the prolapsed coffers.
- Real unemployment estimated at 16% with 25M unemployed.
- Borrowing now 50 cents on every dollar. That's min deval of 50% right here. Adds 90B USD to the deficit, which is 4X that of last year. Though nominal for an exponential prolapse they need a new colour code for this is no longer just being in the red.
- Obama blocks pictures of USA inhumane torture from release. Here's a few off washingtonsblog.com. Obama's now hard at work trying to (a) suppress torture pics, (b) stonewall enquiries, (c) "postponing" the shut down of Quantanamera concentration camp, and (d) protect Bush II hangmen from prosecution. This is everything he promised not to do, isn't it?
- Credit card prolapse joins in the woes with 80B USD laceration.
- Medical Care and Social Security Retirement funds now plundered to float USA banks.
- Obama says "no more blank check to TelAviv" while USA has already earmaked near 3B for Israel for 2010.
- 97B USD more pumped into wars. Who needs debauchery like medical care and retirement when west war junta wants to continue murdering and torturing children.
- 1/370 houses in foreclosure. 1/4 in negative equity.
- Foreclosures up 32% in Apr. California, Florida, and Nevada lead the pack.
- Trains teenagers to conduct armed raids. It's not just FEMA, fanatical christianic orders, but also Obama Jugend now.
- Cannot account for 9T USD. They obviously didn't check the west war junta wallet.
- Slaps sanctions on Myanmar. At least west recognises the new name, which USA was reluctant to do.
- Obama admits USA cannot keep "borrowing from China" (Of course, that's particularly difficult when China isn't lending anymore). This after China says to hell with floating USA (see China, 11MayNBN) and after Obama said "dollar strong", "USA recovering", and "USA respected by int'l community". Watch parts of USA become Chinese property.
- Though out of cash and up to several new generation's eyeballs in debt, Obama manages to begin stuffing free cash into USA insurance sector that has at last come begging for its due zillions.
- AIG loses 4,4B USD/Q1. That would be the free cash that USA baboons gave them. USA media mindrapists, with logic that can no longer be followed, managed to sell this loss as a "great news".
- Obama seeking new revenue from a new "assisted suicide" programme. Not a joke!
- Murders another 50 civilians in an indiscriminate missile attack on Peshawar, Pakistan.
- Not just chem WMDs go "missing" in USA but 8B worth of weapons (that's annual Russian weapon sale) including surface-to-air missiles and apparently the H-bomb. USA manages to defy even insanity.
- C Powell's buddy admits 90% in USA concentration camps are innocent. While all eyes are on Egypt's west-mandate to eradicate part of its food supply, USA torture of innocent people for 8 yrs, which is longer than Hitler, goes relatively unnoticed. Sideline: C Powell is, of course, one of the chief Bush II/Blair henchmen so his chummies are probably in the know.

USA tortures citizens.

Obama promised to end this sickness so USA tortures on. More pics here: informationClearingHouse.info

...and let's not forget that among the many USA int'l policies is "sodimisation of children in front of the child's parents". No words, no anger, no rage, no shrink can ever hope to manage an appropriate response. More info on dvorak.org/blog/...

V E N E Z U E L A Venezuela - PDVSA launches a new 60:40 hydrocarbon venture with PetroChina for 100B CNY to supply 40 tonnes of oil/yr to China. Another knell into the supply for north residing clientelle.
- Boosting China oil export 8X to some 3M bpd.
- Furthering agricultural coop with China.
- Ends IMF continental rape, as Venezuela, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Uruguay reach Banco del Sur accord.
- Chavez again marches into USA Cargill, supposed food maker, for transgressions of laws. USA can't even make pasta without committing crimes.

Chavez: "I don't think the same financial architecture that has caused all these problems can offer a solution to the mess." Indeed, west prolapse is somewhere twixt phase I and II now and a firm matter of when, no longer if.

...to be cont'd as it all piles up.

Well, then, I really laughed my way through this one. Just two quick updates, perhaps:
- Iraq Govt refused to let Kurds supply Nabucco with gas.
- BoE makes £1 billion. Rescue schemes help bank turn the biggest profit in its 300-year history.
Go figure. Thanks, poiuytr, super job.

The devil's in the small print or, more accurately, the sideline, the fast-becoming hallmark of poiuytr 2009. Look at Australia above and concentrate on that "sideline". God, it's a whole new chapter in prolapse development presented like a throwaway line. Stylish, man, stylish!

There was some talk a little way back about a book entitled Amazing Feat. I could imagine another West Prolapsing Polka which would be equally informative and even funnier.

Na, na, poiuytr, as the Germanics say, Star Wars back with a vengeance, I see. Hope that dreadful Iridium 33 is out of commission for good.

About the degree-deprived French student in 2009, it comes back to me that in 1968, when they hit the streets, any student sitting his exams was given pass marks, they were that scared of the young people. Now it's the other way round. Adults taking revenge on future generations.

You missed out on China, Brazil, was that on purpose? They've been visiting each other in their respective countries.

Brazil, China team up against the dollar
Brazil and China are teaming up to initiate the decline of America's currency as the world's reserve standard. (From The Financial Times) - 19.5.09:
Brazil and China will work towards using their own currencies in trade transactions rather than the US dollar, according to Brazil’s central bank and aides to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Brazil’s president. The move follows recent Chinese challenges to the status of the dollar as the world’s leading international currency. Mr Lula da Silva, who is visiting Beijing this week, and Hu Jintao, China’s president, first discussed the idea of replacing the dollar with the renminbi and the real as trade currencies when they met at the G20 summit in London last month.
People's Bank of China Governor Zhou Xiaochuan said ahead of the 2009 G-20 summit that he wants to replace the dollar, installed as the reserve currency after World War II, with a different standard run by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Both Federal Reserve chief Ben Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner have said they would not allow the dollar to be stripped of the premier status as suggested by Beijing.
China, the top holder of US Treasury bonds with 739.6 billion dollars as of January, according to US figures, earlier expressed concern over its investment as the world's largest economy battles a deep recession.

You've just got to love the line above - as though the US government hasn't done enough of its own to sink the value of the dollar by having the Federal Reserve continue to print US money as though it actually was backed by something of worth, not to mention throwing away billions of dollars in these endless wars.
China and Brazil are teaming up to support their own economies without having to use the dollar at all, which - from the look of the current economic status in the US - doesn't appear that unreasonable.

Bush II and company don't need to stand trial and then be hanged or executed with whatever means one finds appropriate. Too costly a process. Better by far they join one of the new "assisted suicide" programmes. They can be eliminated and the amounts they pay for the privilege will help bring in much-needed revenue. When the time comes for Obama and his gang to sign up for the same programme, the treasury will overflow deficit will turn into surplus.

Anonymous said...

Anon 21;21 - Is that assisted suicide programme reserved for top politicians alone? If not, let's put B. Madoff's name down as well. Other US financial oligarchs would also be delighted to make use of this new facility put at their disposal.

Egypt under senile Hosni Mubarak is a scandalous place which exists only to do the bidding of the west. Glad NBN thought fit to mention its insane slaughter of pigs simply to keep the Americans happy. Perhaps the explosion also mentioned is a sign of things to come. Egyptians are slow of reaction, but when they are enraged they can move mountains.

A world of difference betweem poiuytr in NBN and any American shill discoursing on the state of the economy. A recent article asked in its title: Did Bernanke Pull the US Economy Back from the Brink of Depression? And the answer happened to be: Of course he did. The shill had the decency to temper his optimism by adding the economy is not totally out of the woods yet, but the fact of flooding the market with worthless liquidity certainly had a salutary effect in his opinion. Now you understand perhaps why I read poiuytr with care, whereas the others just give me a headache.

Along with morning coffee (or should that be tea?) this:
UK is a real clown of a country. Michael Martin has been forced to quit, the first such resignation of a speaker of the house in the past 300 years. They all feel the scandal over expenses scam has now been laid to rest. Their Chancellor of the Exchequer A. Darling is full of blythe assurance: the recession in UK will be over by Christmas. Hum! Announcing a fall in inflation, which always sounds positive to the public. This will later be changed into deflation which our poiuytr will no doubt further change into depression.
US house hopes dashed - The number of new homes being built fell to a record low in April.
Job losses: Am Express cuts 4000 jobs. Trying to save. For Hewlett Packard it's 6.400 on top of the 25.000 already announced in Sept. HP claims a profit. No comment.

Are Afghan Taliban’s Arms Coming From US?
Arms, Ammo Sent to Afghan Forces Appear to Be Falling Into Taliban Hands
by Jason Ditz, May 19, 2009
Over seven years after the US invasion of Afghanistan, the Taliban insurgency that was the former government remains well armed, and fighting fiercely across the nation. The New York Times is tonight reporting on one possible source for the endless supply of arms.
According to officials, much of the ammunition taken off of the corpses of slain insurgents was “identical” to ammunition which the United States government has been providing to the Afghan government forces to use against the Taliban. Exactly how the Taliban came by such weaponry was unclear, but it is speculated that corrupt Afghan forces may be funneling the weapons to the insurgency.
This seemed to confirm an audit by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) earlier this year, which warned that there were no reliable records to account for hundreds of thousands of weapons the US has provided, from AK-47 assault rifles to mortars and rocket-propelled grenade launchers.
The report chastised the US for its irresponsible record keeping. The vast number of unaccounted-for weapons has even led one former diplomat to speculate that the US must have been doing so deliberately, so as to have an excuse to stay in the nation. While that seems unlikely, it does point to how widespread the problem is.
http://news.antiwar.com/2009/05/19/are-talibans-arms-coming-from-us/
Boys and girls, now this I like, this I like very much. No need to run begging for arms to the Chinese, the Russians or anyone else. They've got all they need right on their doorstep. What does this tell us about the US army? Is this how they think they're going to defeat the Taliban Warriors?

Neocon Zalmay Khalilzad to be Afghan 'Chief Executive'? (20.5.09)
'A former US official has reportedly been groomed to assume the second most powerful post in Afghanistan -- a move that will tighten Washington's grip on Kabul. The New York Times reported Tuesday that Afghan President Hamid Karzai has agreed to give the former US ambassador to the UN, Zalmay Khalilzad, the position of chief executive officer of Afghanistan.
According to senior US and Afghan officials who were speaking on condition of anonymity, the position would allow Khalilzad to serve as some form of "a prime minister, except not prime minister because he wouldn't be responsible to a parliamentary system."The appointment, which comes amid frosty relations between Karzai and the White House, has raised worldwide concern.'

By the way, where is informatron? No postings by him for some time now.

I read the above and think even in west differencs can be seen, the bottom line being Japan, China and Germany can make stuff and USA cannot, its manufacturing sector corroded beyond salvage. "Then shall come phase III, the most feared of all, in which the west madmen will try run and to ensure no one follows they have to create some gigantic distraction for all." NBN, 19.5.09. This got me wondering. West is blind and violent, a very dangerous combination. So they'll go for the Samson option, I suppose. Unless their ingrained cowardice wins out, in which case they'll simply cut and run. Let's do the same before this doomsday scenario becomes reality.

Iran successfully tests Sejjil 2 missile
Wed, 20 May 2009
The Islamic Republic of Iran has successfully test-launched its new deterrent missile, Sejjil 2, pushing forward its long-term defense program.
The 2000-km-range surface-to-surface missile was launched in the central Iranian province of Semnan on Wednesday.
Unlike Iran's Shahab 3 missile, which burns a liquid, the new Sejjil 2 model is solid-fueled. This characteristic gives the missile greater deterrence power as it lowers the time needed to prepare for launch.
Sejjil 2, first tested eight months ago, is also more accurate than the Shahab 3. In comments made days before the launch of Sejjil 2, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the missile was produced in line with Tehran's "deterrence policy".
"Our progress in this field is solely aimed at establishing peace and stability in the region. This technology will only be used against an enemy with ill intentions," he explained.

There are bloggers who are so knowledgeable about which weapons are to be found in whose arsenal, they sound like ex-staff members of Jane's. I know next to nothing about all this. But as far as I can tell, having a few Sejjil2 around can do no harm, things being the way they are and west growls and grunts being Iran's daily fare.

Russia scraps military deal with Syria: report
Wed, 20 May 2009
The MiG-31 is a supersonic, high-altitude fighter with a maximum speed of 3,000 km per hour (1,860 miles per hour) and a combat radius of 720 km (450 miles).
Russia has called off a military contract with Syria under which Moscow was to provide the country's air force with eight MIG-31 fighter jets, a report says.
Citing an unidentified source in Russia's defense industry, the Kommersant daily reported Wednesday that the deal was halted over pressure from Israel.
It is not the first time that Israel puts pressure on Russia to freeze its military contracts with Syria. In 2005, Moscow suspended delivery of Iskander-E missile complexes to Damascus over mounting Israeli pressure.
Tel Aviv has also conditioned the selling of its advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to Russia to the suspension of delivery of anti-aircraft systems to Syria and Iran.
There are also reports suggesting that the MIG-31 contract — agreed in 2007 — was suspended due to lack of funds on the Syrian side.
Under the deal, Damascus must pay about $400-$500 million for eight MIG-31 fighter jets known in the West by NATO codename Foxhound.
Russia's state arms exporter, Rosoboronexport, has declined to comment on the issue.

New World Order (Jurriaan Maessen - Infowars
May 20, 2009?
In the wake of the last Bilderberg conference, we bear witness to a great darkening front closing in on us yet another few inches toward total world domination. The alert observers saw it coming for a long time; the thoroughly indoctrinated are only now beginning to sense that something is rotten in the state of Denmark. How could this have happened without us knowing? And where were the media during our collective comatose suspension? Well, they were busy taking crash courses in ‘educational-operations’ crafted by members of the elite- who are all into streamlining the different media-outlets towards a single purpose, a single hive-mind for us to assimilate into. If you have the misfortune of being born after 1970, you have effectively been put under the spell of this new educational system, dripping into every segment of public life: from broadcasting media and newspapers, to readymade textbooks being used in school and, even, big budget motion pictures flickering predictive programming to be subliminally absorbed.

An awesome warning
Japan's brutal economic decline has been brought about by circumstances very similar to those now emerging in Britain
Will Hutton
guardian.co.uk, Wednesday 20 May 2009
Japan, the world's second largest economy, by the end of this year will have experienced a decline in its national output of 10% from the peak in 2008. Figures announced yesterday show that in the first three months of this year output fell by 4%. This is the fastest rate of decline since the war; overall it is the biggest decline of any major economy since the US economy contracted by a quarter during the Great Depression.
Japan's travails closely impact on us. It is a major locomotive of the world economy; its problems are everyone's. Japan's output has now fallen so far that it has lost all the gains it made since 1992. Brutally, it has lost two decades. You have to shake your head at the horror of it – another sobering example of the dark times in which we are living.
Economists comfort themselves that the worst is behind. A lot of Japan's recent problems arose from a cataclysmic 26% decline in its exports over the quarter as retailers and distributors around the credit-crunch-suffering globe stopped ordering, and met what demand there was from stocks. Japan, uniquely dependent on industrial exports for its prosperity, was hit very hard. But now there are signs orders are picking up again as the "destocking" stops. Exports are steadying.
On top there is a colossal £97bn stimulus package, focusing on stimulating demand for green products. The big car firms report a surge of orders. Even the IMF believes the Japanese economy will decline less rapidly as the year wears on. The Japanese stockmarket, expecting the news, was hardly affected. Perhaps the crisis is yesterday's story.
Wrong. The explanations for Japan's problems are unlikely to evaporate soon. The first is that its economy was crippled during the 1990s and the first part of the 2000s by a drawn-out credit crunch. Banks had lent too much and were crippled by losses as the property market collapsed. With bank and corporate balance sheets badly hit, the economy got stuck in low investment, low growth, low confidence doldrums. It is an awesome warning of what may happen to Britain, similarly stricken.
Matters improved over the last few years, thanks to Japan's powerful industrial exporters and the pick-up in demand from Asia and the US. But crisis-hit America is no longer a big buyer of Japanese and Asian exports. As treasury secretary Tim Geithner has said, over-indebted America is unlikely to become a big consumer again any time soon. Nor can Europe, beset by unemployment, fill the gap.
Which presents Asia and Japan with an enormous challenge. Japan has been the economy Asia has copied – high saving, high investment and high exports – along with a government which closely directs economic activity. This is the Asian model. But who is now going to buy all those TVs, cars, cameras and video games? The only answer is the Asians themselves.
Which means they will have to save less and spend more – a diagnosis easier to make than to execute. Asians save because they don't have confidence in their governments, the tax base on which welfare is financed or on the stability of property rights. There are even fears about the region's political stability.
So governments have to spend to compensate, which is what Japan's is doing on an epic scale. But this can only be a short-term solution. Over the next five years Japan and Asia face the economic fight of their lives, with protracted stagnation and social unrest very real prospects. The solution is an Asian Enlightenment, a more transparent, consumer-oriented capitalism. The biggest worry of all is that so few in Asia recognise the problem. Unless it changes, the next 20 years will be even more dominated by the US and Europe than the last.

Anonymous said...

The Will Hutton article started with a bang and ended with a whimper. But what else to expect from mainstream? Talking about Asian economies, Singapore's contracted at an impressive rate of 14.6 per cent.

China Looks to Africa for Expansion reports The Guardian (22.5.09)
China has embarked on a series of joint projects with Britain in Africa, with the aim of avoiding the abuses and mistakes committed by former colonial powers as it rapidly increases its economic role on the continent.
China invested $4.5bn in infrastructure in Africa in 2007, more than the G8 countries combined, and much of the investment has been private. The number of Chinese companies operating in Africa has more than doubled in just two years to 2,000, with about 400 operating in Nigeria alone, according to new research.
In contrast to the "one-dimensional" stereotype of state-owned enterprises extracting natural resources, most of the investment is from privately-owned firms and many are involved in manufacturing.
However, many of the business practices followed by those companies, such as a preference for using Chinese workers, coupled with Beijing's belief that human rights are the preserve of host country governments, have led to claims that the rapid rise in Chinese influence in Africa has not helped its human rights.
"The Chinese firms that are moving are building infrastructure, they are building roads, they are providing jobs for people, but at the same time: what they are not doing, neither the Chinese government nor the companies, is raising any issues about how the population are being treated," Irene Khan, Amnesty International's secretary general, said today. So China is getting help from the British Development Agency to monitor and assess its projects.

P.S. the British Development Agency mentioned above bears the official name of Department for International Development. Smart or strange move on the part of the Chinese to be associating with them?

Iran to supply Pakistan with free electricity
21 May 2009
Iran plans to supply Pakistan with 100 megawatt electricity free of charge, says the Iranian Ambassador to Islamabad Mashaallah Shakeri.
“All the groundwork in this connection has been completed and the power supply would start as soon as Pakistan finalizes work on transmission lines,” said Shakeri in a meeting with Pakistani Federal Minister for Communications Arbab Alamgir.
According to the Pakistani Dawn newspaper, Shakeri said his country would transit the electricity to the Gwadar Port to ease Pakistan's growing power crisis.
Iran agreed last year to export 1,100 megawatt of electricity to Pakistan to help it overcome shortages in areas bordering Iran, especially in Gwadar.
Tehran also extended an offer to supply wind turbines to Pakistan, which is facing an electricity shortfall of more than 3,000 megawatt.
Tehran has suggested the establishment of joint venture companies in water and electricity sectors between Iran and Pakistan and expressed Iran's desire to have a sizable investment in hydroelectric plants.
Embedded amid all the bad news coming out of Pakistan, this piece shines.

Questions about the "Temple Plot"
By Bill Anderson May 21, 2009 -- The FBI and and media are going ape over this alleged "Temple bombing" plot in which four men from Newburgh, New York, planted what they thought were bombs outside a Jewish temple. Also, these "domestic terrorists" were planning to obtain Stinger missiles to shoot down U.S. military planes. Interestingly, we see that the entire "plot" was hatched by an FBI informant:
The defendants, in their efforts to acquire weapons, dealt with an informant acting under law enforcement supervision, authorities said. The FBI and other agencies monitored the men and provided an inactive missile and inert C-4 to the informant for the defendants, a federal complaint said.
In June 2008, the informant met Cromitie in Newburgh and Cromitie complained that his parents had lived in Afghanistan and he was upset about the war there and that many Muslim people were being killed in Afghanistan and Pakistan by U.S. military forces, officials said.
Folks, let's take a hard look at this one, please. It is not as though C-4 explosives and Stinger missiles are available at every neighborhood drug store. Had any of the four "terrorists" ever obtained explosives or anything similar on their own? Somehow, I seriously doubt it. The New York Times pretty much gives it away, although unintentionally:
A federal law enforcement official described the plot as “aspirational” — meaning that the suspects wanted to do something but had no weapons or explosives — and described the operation as a sting with a cooperator within the group. “It was fully controlled at all times,” a law enforcement official said. Indeed, this Freudian slip perhaps is the most truthful line in the entire article.

The "controlled terrorists", M15 in UK havfe them galore, CIA in US and, of course, the big screen.

The Tectonic Shift in Financial Muscle (17.5.09) - Sydwalker.info
As the new millenium dawned, the ‘Anglosphere’ had a seemingly well-established grip over the finances of the world. This financial dominance - vastly out of proportion to the populations of the English-speaking nations - was reflected in military muscle. The dominant USA was considered by all and sundry to be the sole remaining ‘Superpower’: politically, militarily and economically.
It seems so long ago. Yet until 2007, the Old Order remained essentially intact. Since then, what we’ve come to know as the ‘World Financial Crisis’ has been akin to a new deal in a global poker game. As the cards are flipped face up in mid-2009, it’s apparent there’s been a phenomenal shift in world power. New players have joined the table. They’re outclassing former high rollers.
Graphs showing the top twenty banks in the world by market capitalization, in 1999 and 2009 respectively say it all. In 99 the list was headed by Citigroup and not a single Chinese bank was to be found. By 09, the top three places had been taken by Chinese banks and Citigroup did not even figure in the graph. Also worth pointing out is that as of last month, for the first time, China became Brazil’s largest trading partner. Trade with Brazil has long been an indicator of financial power The USA held the No 1 position from the 1930’s; before that, Britain had been the dominant trading partner for several generations.
Dramatic shifts are currently underway - yet there’s no real sign yet that the English-speaking countries intend to put their bloated military spend into reverse and rejoin the rest of the world. If they did, others would be greatly enouraged to do the same. As it is, the rest of the world is likely to view warily the real intentions of nations with a long track record of illegal invasions, imperialism and starting new wars.
The last thing the world needs now is a ramped up arms race. Another major war could well be the last, as we all know.
Curtailment of Anglo-American imperialism is a benefit - for people in those countries, as well as for the world as a whole. The children of the generation that ‘Lost the British Empire’ experienced unparalled prosperity. The same thing can happen within the USA.
Aside from the interests of war profiteers, economic prosperity is based on peace. It’s possible for Empires to fade gracefully, but only by relinquishing imperial pretensions.

19:06 -- this blog
reading through the comments, i marvel most at the mind and heart of this blog's gentle readership. we have data. we have analysis. we have debate. we have consensus.

the readership has clearly not only outpaced all NBN efforts but it has even affected me -- namely in curtailing my own natural crass profanity, aroused in me by the mere mention of any of the west ways.

i think JamesW too can be pleased with this blog.

------------------------------
15:40 & 15:47 -- phase III, west suicide

i agree with 15:47. west is, beside the greatest serial killer, also an unmatched coward. absolutely! it only attacks nations debilitated by decades of sanctions and armed with dry grass. it descends on civilians at night with nightvision goggles and shoots people with missiles. it runs tanks into crowds of children throwing rocks. it carpet bombs bridges with civilians fleeing on it and strategically "takes out" schools, hospitals, and water supply.

when it faces an armed enemy, though at 1:1000 advantage, it requires a war proxy to do the job, like recently Georgia, or Iraq v Iran, or Afghanistan v Russia, or Hitler v Russia, or Napoleon v Russia, etc.

but what i meant by phase iii is something along the lines of creating giant distraction, not the suicide of the west war junta disease.

it's all a big guess. but seeing that west is run financially and without any way out of total collapse, they must have some contingency plan. and consolidation of assets has been proven by the liquidation of west concerns, piling up the loot, squeezing cash from the baboons any which way, under all sorts of "bailout" euphemisms. clearly, we're seeing shift of this loot behind the scenes to all the "enemies" of west and there's quite a bit of negotiation going on twixt the west junta and their "terrists".

oddly, westener can face unlimited jail for making a deal with Taliban yet Obama does precisely that.

so this supports the loot leaving west in attempt to buy them hideaways and sources of wealth abroad, away from the dying west.

in the meantime they're feeding west drugs (see 13:19) and lies keeping them on the edge but in temporary obedience.

and then when it's all done, the west will devalue and that's the BEST scenario they have left. this alone means civil war/chaos across all west. but it could be far worse. revolution (touched on by 17:20) could be "orchestrated" by the west war junta to make certain they have a new obama clown on the new throne to pardon all of them and continue at the reins in the newly devalued west.

whichever it is, it's gonna be a huge distraction which will liquidate what's left of the entire west. i don't know if it's civil strife, deval only, orchestrated revolt, or int'l conflict predicated on some 911 false flag, or all of it. but that's what i call phase iii.

it doesn't mean the suicide of the criminals but the "suicide" of the west so it does not rally.

20:20 -- oil price
the "low" oil price was another feeble plan by west to try to starve Venezuela and Russia with artificially low prices. OPEC got paid with USA realty and ownership of west concerns and banks.

this was silly, of course, and failed at so much as denting non-west oil pumps. in fact, Venezuela posted profit, didn't it?

west food and energy is subsidised today by the war junta to postpone the crash. while there's stuff to loot and firms to relocate, steal property, they'll keep the natural revolt at bay by price subsidy of the basics.

so west oil price will climb to where it should be the second OPEC is sick of it.

and it's double edge sword here. while west is making concessions to the Arab traitors, the Arab monarchies depend on west military to keep their heads on their necks. both are falling apart but... that's why they're buying land in Africa and west is building little Dubai elite clubs and crap like that. it's tough to follow how they're planning to escape justice.

all of it seems silly and modeled on the today outmoded USA 1945 SouthAm/NorthAm german criminal repatriation model.

whatever happens, it's imperative to make clear that 911 wouldn't have happened without the deliberate complicity of all BBC/CNN anchor whores and all local governances in the entire west. certainly, that makes tens of millions of people who are guilty of the west crimes or perpetuation of them and who aren't on the exclusive "save the war junta" list.

it's strange to see lowly cops in west murder and torture citizens as though they believe they're some protected species. it has to be made clear that Iraq and Afghanistan atrocities wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for the predominantly white christianic low life that fills the Bush II/Obama/Blair/Brown murderous ranks.

The life of BBC/CNN wouldn't have been possible without the deliberate and obedient viewership and license fee support by the west TV eaters, who despite perpetual lies, are still today glued to their colour boxes.

the west-wide looting wouldn't have been possible without the direct involvement and complicity off all west financial organisations. yes, the very teller dressed in a tie and a used-car salesman uniform behind the high counter is the guilty man here. and oddly, he does it for free for he gets nothing in return except unemployment as the charade prolapses around him.

the exact same goes for every single person in the west today. they're all guilty and all of them get nothing but mayhem in return, that's after they've been looted or worse.

and it's this very complicity of the west creature with the west criminal child murdering junta that's so mind boggling and which proves that the entire west culture is nothing but a 2000 yr old festering disease continuously plaguing this planet with the greatest crime of all: a deliberate murder of a child.

Qatar fashions financial oasis to go toe-to-toe with East and West (22.5.09)
As Dubai’s opera buffa ends in a mangle of half-built towers and unpaid debts, regional leadership is shifting along the Gulf coast to the seriously rich gas sheikdom of Qatar – where more intellectual rulers are creating a cross between Sweden and Switzerland in the sands.

Qatar is already the world’s wealthiest country with a per capita income near $75,000. It will soon be much richer. By 2012 it will be producing 5.5m barrels a day of oil-equivalent: half Saudi Arabia’s output, for a population smaller than greater Glasgow.

The Russians are no fools; they understand that US Patriot missiles in Poland have nothing to do with a possible "attack" from Iran (which is, by the way, Russia's 7th largest trading partner), but everything to do with war against Russia.
Off topic at first glance and yet spot on.

AFRICOM’s $6 billion fiasco in Djibouti
By Thomas C. Mountain (15.5.09)
http://onlinejournal.com
ASMARA, Eritrea -- The USA African Command (AFRICOM) is building their new African megabase in the tiny Horn of African country of Djibouti. The first phase is costing $2 billion, according to reports, and eventually another $4 billion will be spent. This latest expansion of USA imperial might, this time on African soil, is turning into a fiasco for the Pentagon and US State Department.
To understand why one must review the recent history in the region. Djibouti is and has been little more than a province of Ethiopia. It was a French colony and continues to host a significant French military base. Since 9-11, the USA military has been feverishly trying to find a site for a major military presence in a strategic place in Africa. Unfortunately for the Pentagon, no African country with a suitable site will allow the USA to set up shop there. So enter Djibouti. With a population of about 500,000, and one of the poorest countries on the planet, Djibouti sits at the entrance to the Red Sea, through which passes much of the world’s shipping, including a sizable portion of the oil used in Europe and Asia. The USA made the Djiboutian president an offer he couldn’t refuse and now the concrete is being poured and the new runways and docks are growing out of the sand and desert of the North African coastline of the Indian Ocean.
For ins and outs of past history, consult article. Suffice it to say here that it must have come as an unpleasant surprise for the US military to find that some 50km away Eritrea holds high ground overlooking Djibouti. The Eritreans could, if they so desire, shut down the new US African base on a moment's notice.
Delicious!

Please to add one more name to the list of west suicide-assassinations, South Korea's ex-prez Roh. Thanks.

Suicide, assassinations, makes one think of Gaza, doesn't it. And, à propos Gaza, here's an item which says it differently. With Israel refusing to allow building materials (along with everything else under the sun) over the border, Palestinians are not only scavenging to survive, Hamas is pushing a new plan to replace thousands of homes destroyed by Israeli forces with mud-brick buildings.
Salute human ingenuity.

News of some leading blogging sites today:
ICH's Tom is pleading with the public for financial support. Iraqwar has been down for several days and Antiwar's Justin Raimondo has reached such a state of panic, he's writing personal messages to anyone who ever sent him money in the past. Only WRH's Michael Riviero seems to be keeping his cool. One Raimondo sentence merits quotation: "People can't afford to work for free and who can blame them?" Well, what about all the diligent free bloggers working round the clock, all in their own spare time, and who've never seen a penny in any currency as remuneration or reward?

It begins to make sense. Expect a spanking new US base to rise from the ground in Sri Lanka. Tomorrow, then, they'll find themselves facing the big guns of the Tamil Eelam Tigers. What the Amis do not understand is military bases do not an empire make.
As for the harsh sanctions threatening Eritrea, ha, ha.

Xinhua - 23.5.09 - Super Power Status with Tied Hands - The Chinese Begin to Speak Up
If the West really wants China to help clear the mess it has created, it has to give the Middle Kingdom more say in matters pertaining to the global economy. But despite all the fancy talk about G2, China is still worse than a junior partner, discriminated against in many fields. Even though China is willing to loosen its purse strings and buy sick enterprises or mines, it cannot because the West won't allow it to. The sauce for the gander in this is not sauce for the goose.
What the West wants from China is: Pay as told without knowing why and for what. Why? The answer is simple: If the West goes down, China goes down too. China is supposed to play the role of a responsible stakeholder for the US and the G7, whereas in the true spirit of G2, it should be an equal partner.
There's no denying the fact that if world economy falls apart, China too will go into depression. But it can't be denied either that it will emerge stronger than others from the pit.
Of course, it's not in China's interest to see the situation deteriorate. It is willing to help too. As a true stakeholder in the global economy, it will try its best to minimize the damage caused by the industrialized West and protect itself and its neighbors, which together constitute about 60 percent of the world population. It won't do it to please the West, or to save the West from the perils of its own creation, or to become a "superpower", and that's precisely why it deserves to be treated as an equal partner by the rest of the world.
China has been playing as important a role as in many international matters, and it will work for a world without domination, a world where every country - large and small, rich and poor - will have a fair chance to develop and prosper.
Not so long ago, China was weak and poor, and its people have not forgotten what the accompanying shame, subjugation and deprivation meant. It will not collude with the US or the G7 and never become a bully on the world stage. Instead, true to what it preaches, it will endeavor to bring peace and development to every nook and cranny of the world.

Anonymous said...

That is how one wishes great nations to speak. Such is the promise which will grain our loyalty, the promise never to become a bully on the world stage.

The economy is down, but the cost of living is going up. Just as families schooling themselves to live on less are starting to make headway, the rising cost of many necessities is delivering a new financial punch.

Who Rules America? - Article by Paul Craig Roberts (23.5.09) We skip much of it here, but below is an extract from the final paragraphs:
"China and to some extent India are the rising powers in the world. Russia, the largest country on earth, is armed with a nuclear arsenal as terrifying as the American one. The US dollar’s role as reserve currency, the most important source of American power, is undermined by the budget deficits that result from the munitions corporations’ wars and the bankster bailouts."
"Why is the US making itself impotent fighting wars that have nothing whatsoever to do with is security, wars that are, in fact, threatening its security?"
"The answer is that the military/security lobby, the financial gangsters, and AIPAC rule. The American people be damned."

PUTIN FOILS THE ZIONIST-CONTROLLED WEST (23.5.09)
IRANIAN WAR PLANES DID NOT TAKE OFF FOR AN AIR SHOW on April 18, 2009, due to Putin’s warning that Israel was planning to destroy all 140 fighter-bombers. The planes were concentrated at the Mehr-Abad Air Force base on April 17, 2009, in preparation for an air show over Tehran on Iran’s “Army Day” the following day. Heeding Putin’s warning, the entire fleet was removed to remote bases and the air show was cancelled.
Putin had informed the Iranians that its spy satellites and intelligence sources had picked up preparations at Israeli Air Force bases to destroy the 140 warplanes, (the bulk of the Iranian air force), on the ground the night before the display, leaving its nuclear sites without aerial defense. A similar operation wiped out the entire Egyptian air fleet in the early hours of the 1967 war.
Many in Israel now fear that the Middle East could once again become a theatre for Russia to exert its sphere of influence, both militarily and politically. This fear was raised in August of 2008, when Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, met with Putin in Moscow to conclude a series of military agreements, saying, “We are ready to co-operate with Russia in any project that can strengthen its security.”
RETURNING THE FAVOR, Putin proposed a revival of its Cold War era naval base at the Syrian port of Tartus, giving the Russian Navy its first foothold in the Mediterranean for two decades. Damascus and Moscow were close allies during the Cold War but the Kremlin’s influence in the region waned after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Last summer’s rapprochement between Russia and Syria raised the possibility that Moscow intends to re-create a global anti-Western/anti-Zionist alliance with its former Soviet bloc allies. Some Israeli analysts fear that this rapprochement will encourage Syria to try to take back the Golan Heights, captured by Israel in 1967.
On January 12, 2009, Putin’s proposal was put into action. A task force from the Russian Navy’s Northern Fleet arrived in the Syrian port of Tartus from Turkey. Syria welcomed Russia’s fleet by hosting a naval exercise with Moscow. Putin has continued to send a range of vessels to the Syrian port as part of routine maneuvers in the Mediterranean. And, the Russian Navy has been operating a maintenance site at Tartus ever since.
Russian officials say that its Navy plans to modernize Tartus over the next few years in an effort to gain a better foothold in the Mediterranean. The officials stated that Tartus, designed to accommodate up to a dozen warships, will become the base for the Russian Navy’s Black Sea Fleet. View Entire Story Here, Here & Here.
Methinks That The Zionist-Controlled West Has FINALLY Met Its Match In Vladimir Putin … http://www.realzionistnews.com/?p=401
Yukos, remember? That's when we began trusting Russia again.

Reading the three articles on the big powers one after the other, Super Power Status (China), Who Rules America? and Putin Foils the Zionist-Controlled West, one gets the distinctly queasy feeling that one of them has clearly overstayed its welcome. Time now for the other two with the help of their allies to take over.

Anon 20/5/09 15:54 - Iran successfully tests Sejjil 2 missile. For all those fond of such military tidbits. The new Iranian deterrent medium-range, surface-to-surface missile Sejjil 2 is not based on Russian or North Korean Scud technology. It is closer to the Pakistani missile Shaheen II. Good to see how self-sufficient the Freeworld is becoming even in the hardware domain.

FBI Blows It: Supposed Terror Plot Against NY Synagogues Is Bogus (23.5.09)
By the now, it's maddeningly familiar. A scary terrorist plot is announced. Then it's revealed that the suspects are a hapless bunch of ne'er-do-wells or run-of-the-mill thugs without the slightest connection to any terrorists at all, never mind to Al Qaeda. Finally, the last piece of the puzzle: the entire plot is revealed to have been cooked up by a scummy government agent-provocateur.

Does anyone feel like me, after having gone through some of the stuff above, that democracy is a half-baked idea promoted by certain interest groups to keep people ignorant and docile?

Anonymous said...

Yes, democracy is just fine, but only in small doses.

Anonymous said...

A surfeit of democracy? Quite. So in the name of this threadbare system thousands and thousands of lives have been taken? And religion has a bad name as far as killings go!

Lavrov meets Khaled Mashaal - 24 May 2009
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says that Moscow deems it necessary to maintain contact with the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.
Lavrov, who is in Damascus to discuss Moscow's
plan for a Middle East conference with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, held talks with the political leader of Hamas, Khaled Mashaal on Saturday.
"We are certain that this maintaining contact with Hamas is needed," Interfax news agency quoted Lavrov as saying.
However, the Russian foreign minister — who will also attend a foreign ministers meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference —did not disclose the content of his meeting with Mashaal.
Among the Quartet on the Middle East countries, Russia is the only state that has contact with Hamas and does not boycott the movement.
Sounds reasonable, but could be the usual good cop-bad cop story.

Rafik Hariri and Saddam Hussein have been murdered by the same people for the same reason IMO. It is worth noting that they were the two most powerful champions of the Palestinian cause. It is also worth noting Hariri was fiercely opposed to the continued presence of US troops in Iraq. All interviews given by him in the time preceding his death repeated his opposition to the war. Those who murdered him were the US and Israel.
